Ellen Boyle holds a BFA degree in Musical Theatre
and Dance from the University of Michigan
and an MFA in Acting from the University of
Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she studied
under the direction of Sanford Robbins.
Professionally Ellen has performed
internationally in Greece, Cyprus and
Germany, in the Midwest with the Chicago
Actors Project, and in the Northwest with the
Oregon Shakespeare Festival, the
Bathhouse Theatre and Seattle Children's
Theatre. Ellen has been teaching Voice,
Speech and Dialects for over 12 years. She
has coached dialects at the Seattle
Repertory, Intiman and Bathhouse Theatres.
Kathleen Collins received an M.A. and an M.F.A. in Theatre from the University of Washington.
While in graduate school, she was one of the founders of the Seattle Children's Theatre. As the
Artistic Director of the Honolulu Theatre for Youth, the only professional theatre in the state of
Hawaii, Kathleen's productions toured all the Islands of Hawaii as well as Samoa and the 1982
World's Fair in New Orleans. Kathleen was the Artistic Director of the Fulton Opera House in
Lancaster, Pennsylvania where she led the professional mainstage program, as well as the
professional touring program for young audiences. Kathleen has taught at the University of
Hawaii, and her alma mater. She has directed over 70 professional productions and currently,
in addition to teaching at Cornish, is an adjunct professor for Lesley University, teaching in
their graduate program.
Rita Giomi is a Seattle-based freelance director who has been privileged to direct for The Empty
Space, Seattle Children's Theatre, ACT, Stark/Raving Theatre, Seattle Mime Theatre, Seattle Group Theatre, Village Theatre,
Center Stage, Alice B. Theatre, and Tacoma Actor's Guild among others. Outside of Washington, Rita's credits include work with
companies in Alaska, California, New Mexico, Colorado, New York, Louisiana, Indiana, Oregon and Washington D.C. Rita
received her MFA in directing from the University of Washington and is a member of the Society of Stage
Directors and Choreographers.
Marianne Roberts performed with New York dance companies for 12 years, touring throughout Europe, Israel, South Africa and the U.S. In 1984, she moved to Seattle and began choreographing for the theatre. Her credits include productions at Seattle Repertory Theatre, Intiman Theatre Company, The Village Theatre and Seattle Children's Theatre. For many years, Ms. Roberts taught ballet in the Dance Department and Movement for Actors in the Theatre Department at Cornish College of the Arts. She has been teaching Renaissance and Baroque Dance to actors for the past 12 years.
Robert Macdougall is
an actor, stuntman, and fight choreographer
whose work has been seen internationally,
Bob co-founded Proteus Theatre Company and 'The Sword and the Play' stage
combat workshops. As a fight
choreographer he has worked at theater
companies nationwide, including Seattle
Repertory Theatre, Dallas Shakespeare
Festival, Central Coast Shakespeare
Festival, and Pacific Conservatory for the
Performing Arts. He is the 1992 recipient of
the Patrick Crean Award for excellence in the
field of stage combat. He is a certified fight
director with the Society of American Fight
Directors and a fightmaster with the Society
of Australian Fight Directors. He is president
of Fighting Arts International and serves on
the board of directors of United Stuntman's
Association and has worked as a stuntman,
actor and stunt coordinator on several
television shows and films, including:
Drugstore Cowboy, Dogfight, Twin Peaks,
and Northern Exposure. He has taught in
Asia, Australia, Europe and North America,
including the University of Washington,
University of Denver, University of Indiana
and the National Theatre Conservatory. He is
a certified Feldenkrais practitioner and
licensed massage therapist and holds black
belts or teaching certificates in several
martial arts. Bob holds a BS from Humboldt
State University.
Jessica
Marlowe-Goldstein is a professional teacher and Equity actor who has
participated in acting, teaching, and directing in NY, NJ, Virginia, South
Dakota, and Wisconsin. Local acting credits: Seattle Rep, Seattle Children's
Theatre, Intiman Theatre (New Voices Series), Belltown Theatre, Empty Space,
and Freehold. After training for several years in Meisner technique, Nineteen
years ago, Jessica began teaching theatre in Harlem, NY with the Public
Theater's Playwriting in the Schools Program, under directors: Joe Papp and
Elizabeth Swados. Guest teaching: Rato Bangela School in Katmandu, Nepal,
University Preparatory Academy, The Hebrew Academy, Northwest Actors Studio,
Pacific Rim Camp for the Arts, and the University of Washington, where she
earned her MFA with honors in 1993 through the Professional Actors' Training
Program (PATP). In addition to teaching for seven years at Freehold, Jessica
currently teaches at West Seattle Theatre Arts, Studio East, Youth Theatre
Northwest, Seattle Children's Theater, and Madison Middle School with Two
Roads Acting Ensemble. Most recently she conducted a workshop in Meisner &
Stanislavski technique for Whitman College's Drama Department with Deborah
Holmes. She also conducts coaching sessions for Theatre Puget Sound and the
SAG Conservatory. This past summer Jessica attended master classes in Vladivostok, Russia with
Leonid Anismov, Director of the Chamber Theatre in the Stanislavski System.
Robin Lynn Smith has worked for over 20 years as an actor, director and teacher in Chicago, Boston, New York
and Seattle. In New York, she directed Sam Shepard's Curse of the Starving Class off-Broadway at the
Promenade Theatre. As artist-in-residence with Seattle Repertory Theatre, she helped to develop
their outreach program and directed several productions, including Marvin's Room, Frankie and
Johnnie in the Claire de Lune and City of Gold. She has also directed in Seattle at The Empty Space
Theatre, New City Theatre and Seattle Children's Theatre. This Fall she is
directing The Weir for Intiman Theatre Robin is a co-founder and studio director at Freehold Theatre Lab in Seattle, where
she also teaches and directs. She directed an award-winning production of The Seagull at Freehold in
1995. She has also taught at New York University's Graduate Acting Program, the University of
Washington's Professional Actor Training Program, the University of Puget Sound and Bellevue
Community College. She holds a BFA in acting from Boston University and an MFA in directing from
New York University Tisch School of the Arts and she is a member of the Society of Stage Directors
and Choreographers.
Amy Thone Artistic Associate and Casting Director for Seattle Shakespeare Comapny and has acted with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, Seattle Shakespeare Company and the Intiman Theatre, where she recently performed in A Question of Mercy and Measure for Measure. She received her MFA from the National Theatre Conservatory at the Denver Center.
Richard E.T. White had a three-year residency in Japan, where he was a visiting professor of
English at Toin Yokohama University and Resident Director at Tokyo's Theatre Company Subaru. While
in Japan, he co-directed productions of As You Like It and Les Belles Soeurs.
Richard has directed at regional theaters throughout the U.S., including the Old Globe Theatre, the
Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D.C., the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, the Milwaukee
Repertory Theatre, the Alliance Theatre, the Berkeley Shakespeare Festival, American Conservatory
Theater the Berkeley Repertory Theatre and Seattle's Empty Space and Intiman
Theatre, ACT and the Seattle Repertory Theatre. Recent directing credits include Ibsen's Nora at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and the West Coast
premiere of The Beauty Queen of Leenane at the Seattle Repertory Theatre. He has served as Artistic
Director of San Francisco's Eureka Theatre and the Wisdom Bridge Theatre in Chicago and has taught
acting at UC Berkeley, the Berkeley Shakespeare Festival Institute and the Drama Studio London at
Berkeley. Richard holds a BA in drama from the University of Washington. A member of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers, he has received eight Bay
Area Theater Critics' Circle Awards and eight Dramalogue Awards for Outstanding Direction.
