SOUND AND FURY-Voice,
Speech and the Actor
There are only two ways in which an
audience knows what a character is thinking. Through movement or
voice. The more complex the character, the greater the need
for the actor to have a fully expressive voice. Master
Instructors Kate
Myre, Lisa Norman,
Judith Shahn, and Kate
Wisniewski, four of the finest vocal coaches in the
area, give solid workouts in all areas of voice and speech.
Investigation of Edith Skinner, Kristin Linklater, Catherine
Fitzmaurice and voice and motion as well as text work explored
through Shakespearean Sonnets give actors the basis they need.
Solid techniques, personal vocal warm ups, speech drills, along
with improvisation, games and text work. Please bring a memorized
Shakespearean Sonnet. Hal
Ryder assists with text work.
